McAfee Security Scan

Welcome to McAfee Security Scan

McAfee Security Scan is a free tool that automatically checks and reports if your PC is protected. Your PC's security status is determined by the state of your anti-virus and firewall protection. Your security software may be switched off or become out of date without you realizing. Or, you may not have security software installed on your PC. McAfee Security Scan lets you know if your PC is at risk and what you can do to protect it. Feel confident knowing that McAfee works behind the scenes to protect you by automatically starting the scan every week so that you are kept informed if your PC's security changes.

Scanning your PC

McAfee checks your PC for anti-virus and firewall software and the state of each. With this information, we determine your PC's security status. Knowing if your PC is at risk allows you to do what you need to protect your PC. And we go one step further by guiding you in getting that protection. Checking your PC for protection status is easy—McAfee Security Scan keeps track of when it last checked your PC so you don't have to. Or, you can use it any time to make sure your PC is protected. To check your protection status, your PC must be connected to the Internet so that McAfee Security Scan can check for software updates. If your McAfee Security Scan is not the latest version, we'll ask you to update your software before we start the security scan.
